Linh Trung I Export Processing Zone is located in Thu Duc District, northeast of Ho Chi Minh City with an area of 62 hectares, 16 km from the city center, about 2 km from the train station, about 11 km from the port, and about 11 km from the port. 20km international airport, close to the national highway, convenient geographical location. Linh Trung Export Processing Zone I has an altitude of 19-30m above sea level, hard soil is ideal for industrial purposes. This zone is planned into two parts: an export processing zone (52 ha) and an industrial zone (10 ha). During the period from early 1995 to 2000, Linh Trung Export Processing Zone implemented a rolling investment method, completed the clearance, built infrastructure and public utilities. By the year 2000, the lease was completed with all 30 enterprises, the total investment capital was over 247 million USD. Investors are mainly from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan. The industry is mainly light industry with product and machine processing. Total export value in 2011 reached 1.34 billion USD, creating job opportunities for more than 50,000 employees.
